A Solid Plan
Series: Modern Match Maker
A too-good-to-be-true, match-maker romance— the only cheating this couple does is at bocci ball:
So far, so good. Jenn and Brenda were definitely thinking about what I like to look at.
Problem is, what I like to look at hasn’t exactly proven to be what I’m looking for in a partner. That was the whole point in hiring a match-maker and having someone else find a husband for me.
Now I’m worried I made a huge mistake.
What if my team didn’t understand the assignment?
What if my cousin and my sister went through all this hassle and just picked the guy they thought was the best looking? Or made the most money?
“Van!” Brenda calls me impatiently, her tone insinuating that I’m embarrassing her. “Are you coming or not?”
It’s innocent enough but, given the nature of the meeting, I can’t help but hear the potential double entendre in her question and I feel myself blush as I try to remember how to walk.
Casually.
Confidently.
Like I go to bougie country clubs to meet total– smoking hot— strangers that I’m going to marry all the time.
